Summer '18- NOLA

Okay, we are just going to pretend that it is still June when I am writing this and not September but o-KAY here we go (:

So, NOLA... an underrated travel destination in my opinion.  The historical aspect of the city mixed with the constant party atmosphere makes NOLA a destination I see myself traveling to again.

My friend and I decided, last minute, to book a quick weekend trip.  We looked up flights and AirBnB's and decided, why the heck not! The night came for us to leave and with zero plans besides knowing where we were going to sleep.

Our AirBnB was the CUTEST!  Somehow managed to find an entire house in the cutest part of town for the weekend.  The house was central to the trolley that takes you right to the French Quarter and it also had local shops and stores for us to get some essentials we left behind to not worry about being stopped by TSA.

WHAT WE DID:
So, for starters, the French Quarter is an obvious stop in your travels here.  From the live music to the delicious food, there is so much to do!  It is a typical tourist trap but for a travel junkie like myself, I was thriving.  NOLA is known for their flavorful food so of course I had to stop in a gift shop and get some food seasons to bring back home and honestly... there is one I literally use in every single dish.
It was GAY PRIDE weekend when we were there and got to experience the parade down Bourbon St. which was amazing seeing people from all walks of life come together for love #somanybeads.
We also took a stop to the historic Lafayette Cemetery which is in the Garden District.  This neighborhood has HUGE homes from years ago.  This is also where the American Horror Story: Coven house can be found and so can the house from Drake's video for "In My Feelings" #iconic.
For food, I definitely recommend Ruby Slipper.  The food here was SO GOOD and I will be coming back (whenever that may be)

All in all, NOLA is a destination that I think needs to be recognized for more than Mardi Gras (granted, I want to experience Fat Tuesday).
